When she was younger, Laerorngwen was forced to fend for herself, having grown up most of her life as an orphan after being separated from the Tathvir family when she was very young. She lived from day to day, trying to survive by begging, trading, or sometimes even performing for others, until she had finally reached the age of sixteen, when she decided that she was tired of living in squalor and wanted to find her family. She wandered around for a while, trying to find anything that lead her to her family. She was losing hope when she finally caught wind that someone had a scarf similar to her own. It took a while to get enough information, since she was considered to be a simple child, but she was finally able to track down the city where the stranger lived, the city of Fenn, to which she made a journey, determined to try and find them and learn about who they were.
