Meriyan was born and raised in the Elven city of Berr’lin by her father Aeralaanys and mother Sïnéllao. She was quite fortunate in her upbringing as her parents were both educated and financially stable. She grew up as an only child, isolated from outside influence for the most part. This caused her to be heavily influenced by the teachings of her parents, such as a belief that she is above others. It also limited her social interaction, leaving her emotionally stunted and quite withdrawn. From a young age, she had a fixation with precious gems and metals. This interest was fuelled by her father’s work as a blacksmith and eventually she went on to follow in his footsteps, though her aspirations were far bigger than her father’s. Since her adolescence she has worked under her father as an apprentice, but aspires to make a name for herself as a jeweller. As Meriyan’s income as an apprenticeship was declining, she decided that she could no longer remain in her hometown of Berr’lin any longer. This stagnation prompted her to journey to the Concord of Llyria in the hopes that this change in location would bring forth a more prosperous life.
