Oruh was 22 years old when the War of Two Emperors began. As a farmer on the edge of Norland, he heard calls to action begin to ring throughout the countryside.
Ignoring them at first, he continued his work. As the war progressed through, chaos spread throughout both nations. With much of the kingdom’s forces moving to the front lines,
the edge lands were the first to be taken by bandits and wandering mercenaries. His land was pillaged and burnt as he fled towards Dunharrow.
With nothing left of material value, he joined the Orenian Army to take up arms in the War of Two Emperors. Here he met an old Teutonic Knight who trained him for combat.
Oruh’s skill grew over time, and as more skirmishes began to unfold in the Crownlands, he became proficient in battle. Eventually the day came to lay siege to Helena.
On the day of the battle the Old Knight gave him a cloth sigil interlacing the names HOREN and OWYN throughout the fabric. When the battle began it became evident that the
Oenian Empire would be defeated. Seeing his fellow footman being slaughtered around him Oruh fled the battlefield. Hearing the Old Knight call his name from the battlefield,
he turned back just in time to see his mentor fall by a Renation sword. Clutching the sigil, he turned and ran until dusk.
Eight years later he has returned to the life of a simple farmer. Living on the outskirts of a reunified Orenian Empire.
