Rast had a simple life. When guard duty didn’t pay well enough to support a family, he took jobs from less savory folk. Rast had a price, and mercenary gold was worth more than blood until his family became caught up in his work. Losing his wife, Nala, and daughter, Taega made him resentful of the work he did for bandits and debt collectors. He exacted his revenge, but that was many years ago and didn’t make him feel much less empty. Today Rast looks to rebuild his life, but is not ready for another attempt at a family. He spends his time in the backs of taverns, looking for odd jobs that might give others reprieve from a fate similar to his own, though his strength is failing and his mind is not as sharp as it once was.
Born and raised in the Kingdom if Curonia with minimal schooling to an impoverished family, the younger of two sons. His Brother, Raemus, takes after their parents, Agatha and Rudolf, as tanners. His parents passed twenty years ago, but Rast only heard of this news in the past ten. He does not dare visit their graves. They eloped, and lived in a small home outside Haense for some of the most peaceful year of Rast’s life, raising a child. This all changed when Rast was thirty-five, when his life changed irreversibly.
