Hinnevar lived in a family of archaeologists, near the city of Avalain, but never really had any interest in the profession. He had always wanted to become an explorer, a true man of the people, just like the heroes mentioned in the myths and history books.
After tripping whit a rusty sword in the middle of nowhere, Hinnevar found the audacity he needed to begin his journey and become the adventurer he had always wanted to be, and ended up leaving his poor family behind. Although he may be a small and insignificant human in a world made for stronger people, Hinnevar is confident in his ability to address the difficult problems that arise, and firmly believes that if it is possible to do things right and find a solution, it is his duty to do it.
The absence of a specific home has played an important role in determining Hinnevar's personality. His habit of treating others with respect and making a good first impression has earned him many allies over time. He lived in a village near Helena, capital of the Holy Orenian Empire for a couple of years, before being unjustly accused of committing a crime against a powerful figure among the townspeople, and subsequently being exiled from it.
After years of hunting and wandering in the wild, Hinnevar finally reached Alannor, where he managed to stay financially.
Not knowing what his place in the world is, Hinnevar struggles with the guilt of his past, but is committed to fulfilling his "purpose" of protecting the people around him. He is quick to trust and love, and is willing to hurt himself for those to whom he has become emotionally attached.
