He was born in a small cottage along with his twin brother, Vergil. Their father served in the Three Months War and had yet to return. After he had gone into town to get supplies, he returned to find his home deserted, with his brother and mother both missing. After this he wandered the land in search of any clues about their disappearance, while doing various odd jobs along the way.
