Ascelyn was born in the Archduchy of Suffonia. Ascelyn’s family moved in to the Warwick Castle after the Two Emperors war, they were originally residing in villages nearby Reza. His mother became a maid for Edward Suffolk, rightful ruler of Archduchy of Suffonia and she worked in Pembroke Palace, Warwick Castle. His father joined the Crimson Guard and started serving as a bodyguard for Lord Percival Suffolk. Sadly, while Ascelyn was a mere child, his father was killed by a thief in Ves City, while he was trying to defend Lord Percival. Following that, Lord Percival took pity in the young boy and sent him to Avalain, Curonia for education, he thought distancing himself from Suffonia could help him forget his father. There Ascelyn became friends with a bastard from the House of De Alba, from Astorga. His friendship lasted until Ascelyn was 14 year old, he became homesick and wished to return to Suffonia to his mother. When Ascelyn arrived to Suffonia, he learned that her mother died in a kitchen accident, while she was cooking a soup for their royal Barbanov guests. This was too much for Ascelyn and he left Suffonia for good, memory of his parents were too overwhelming for him. He first visited Helena (the old one), then from there he took a journey to Sutica, aiming to find himself a job in a trade cog and travel the realms of Arcas…
