Born in the Free City of Ruben, Luciel was born an only girl among seven sons. In order to survive being the only daughter, Luciel had learnt to play intricate pranks on her brothers. Despite being born of two farfolk, Luciel grew up in a land riddled with Heartlanders. She adapted easily to her society, and wished to study arts as she grew. She was an outcast as it was, being the only girl in her family, but her parents disapproved of her ideals. They believed it would not be a stable job for her, and limited her exposure to the art she so loved, thus creating an irreparable gulf in their relationship. Luciel left home as soon as she could in pursuit of her dreams. However, as her parents had predicted, she did not survive the ever-changing world of modern arts. With little money, Luciel turned to the only way she knew she could find money: gambling. Initially, she was unwilling. Her parents warned her of the dangers of addiction when it came to gambling. Her situation had become dire, she reasoned, and paid no heed to their caution.
Luciel found quickly that she had come to rather enjoy the exhilaration of gambling. Money was no longer important to her. She lived for gambling. She carefully honed her skills, improving her impulsive lying and subtle behaviour that would give away her opponents. Her compulsive habits became recognised, and many gamblers in the area grew weary of her extravagant spending. They did not want to become victim of her extortionate gambling, and refused to play with her. To sate her desires, Luciel began to travel. Despite moving quickly, Luciel has managed to indulge in the company of a Puxie she had won in a game.
Luciel still enjoys and dreams of art. She would like to be able to overcome her gambling addiction, find permanence and solace in a friend, and prove her parents wrong.
