Otome was a very unique, calm person since birth, of course her parents had to have noticed this. Her sister, Kanashima, did enjoy the fact that she got more attention than Otome for this. Unfortunately, this was not for long. As they grew older, around 5-7, their parents were already teaching them the modern ways of being a wife. Seeing as Kanashima was always the first person to be chosen, or looked at, took advantage of this. Her attention span grew less as she grew much lazier in effort. Otome, on the other hand, would do the chores that Kanashima was assigned. As they grew older, Otome gave the nickname ‘Kana’ to her sister. And, she preferred to be called ‘Oto’. Her parents did occasionally get sick of her being quieter than usual. That’s why, one day, her parents chose to remove her from the household. Her family had always been Heartlanders, and this was quite unusual seeing as she never did anything opposite towards them. Her beliefs were the same, she thought the same. This is why she decided to move far from her family. Moving soon, by seeing as her parents were thinking of her as something else. She never understood this, but she decided to go either way. If this was what her parents asked, she must do it. By the opportunity, she took a boat as she soon was there to travel to a new land. A soon arrival to where she’d start her life as an adult, in the Kingdom of Curonia, or Curon. Soon, if adapted will be where she’d live for quite a while.
