Hendrick was born in a small village close to Oren. His father and mother lived on a farm owned by his Uncle. This is where he grew up. The family lived from what they grew on the land. From when Hendrick was able to walk he had to help around the farm. There was no school in the small village, so his mother taught him the basics. But his father and uncle did not want him to learn theory, they wanted him to learn physical work, the only thing that was useful for a man to know. When Hendrick was 16 years old, a deadly plague came to the village. His mother and father did not survive the plague. His uncle wouldn't take care of him, so Hendrick had to wander out into the big world alone. He has worked on many farms on his long journey. But now he has big plans to make his own farm.
