My father walked out on my mother when after she got pregnant. She was a amateur seamstress in my home city, barely able to pay her own bills, much less a child's expenses. She would have tried however, had she not died in childbirth. I grew up in a youth home with other orphans, learning simple chores and schooling to make a good servant when I came of age. A traveling alchemist, a wood elf by the name of Cedrick Lovell, came by the orphanage when I was about 10, looking for someone to help him do menial labor. Many boys offered to join him, but for some reason he chose me. I hounded him for years about why, the most informative answer I got was “You just seemed the right kid for the job”. I worked for him until I came of age, by then Cedrick was extremely old, he passed a way a year later, leaving his shop in my care. I traveled the world, making potions and elixirs in the cities and towns. Making just enough gold to keep the shop alive, trying to learn a bit about my past along the way. A couple years have passed since I’ve ran the shop alone. To call it boring would be an understatement. I decided I would pack up the essentials and head off for new lands.
I hope to make Mr. Cedrick proud, he's more of a father to me than my real one.
(I know this may be an issue, but I’m making this application during the “owo”ification of the wiki (April Fools) and its making it very difficult to tie specific locations to my character. Essentially this is a DnD artificer, I know some magic but mostly I’m a humble potion seller (read LotC rules, no actual magic usage/knowledge when I’m playing). My original character came from Waterdeep, and had ancestors of the Netherese Empire [Both DnD, Sword Coast related], my home is my backpack or a horse drawn cart [travelling shop, but that may be hard in the confines of Minecraft]. I would be more than happy to change Soren’s story to fit the world of LotC, but it requires a moderators help or at least someone more knowledgeable of the lore).
