Born close to the riverbanks of the great city Yamatai to mercantile parents, Eiichi experienced a colourful life growing up. Primarily home-schooled for the first few years of his life alongside his two older brothers, his family traveled much in search of trade opportunities, which allowed the young boy to learn much about the wider world within Oyashima. Eventually, Eiichi’s family relocated to Owynsburg, where they settled down and assimilated themselves into local culture.
Now entering adolescence, Eiichi threw himself into education, determined to build on his father’s accomplishments, and to make his own fortune down the road. Apart from school, Eiichi’s interests expanded into the culinary arts – in no small part thanks to his newfound best friend and confidant, Llora, whose family had similarly recently made their way to Owynsburg as immigrants, and ran a tavern down the road from Eiichi’s house. The duo spent days concocting their own recipes, and nights poring over books together for much of their teenage lives – their parents were certain that they would end up together, but neither ever decided to take the first step, with each of them constantly getting themselves into ill-fated relationships.
As with most youthful friendships, Eiichi’s and Llora’s slowly dissolved as they moved on to the next stage of their lives – Eiichi’s passion for trade led him to find work first in banking at Owynsburg, before striking out on his own as a purveyor of fine clothing and rare gems along the River Leuven. Several years passed, and Eiichi was ready to take the next momentous step in his life – figuring out what adventures lay ahead of him next.
