Stefan Roydan was a lone child born in Reza in 1725, to Sieghard, a local blacksmith and Francesca Roydan, a royal courtier. In his early days, he used to go around town collecting coins he found in the ground. A few years later, during a war the Holy Orenian Empire had with the Federation of Mokh-Urak, his father was called upon by the Brotherhood of Saint Karl, however he was killed during a battle. That event prompted his mother to work harder in the palace. It was not enough. She soon had to sell their house in Reza and move to a smaller one in the fields, the war also had her dismissed as courtier and she was sent to plow the fields. Meanwhile, Stefan helped her with farming duties, tending to animals and crops. Many years passed, Stefan found himself in a suitable age to enlist, and so he did. The young Roydan served in the Royal Army for a few years, though only as a lowly soldier. After an encounter with a mercenary group, which almost had his patrol squad wiped out, a sense of wanderlust struck him and so he decided to take his leave in the army and go on with his life. Next, he sold his old family house and possessions in Reza and went on a journey, his first stop was in Sutica, way down south, he stayed in the local inn for a few days, though the city did not suit his needs. Afterwards, he set out once again, this time looking for a decisive place to call home, though he has yet to find it...
