Ysmay Valianat was born to Forthwind and Phrowenia Valianat in the realm of Irrinor. She has a brother, but he is several decades older than her and went to join the Council of Roots before she was born. The two have met only twice. Forthwind and Phrowenia belong to the cult of Ohowaki, as did their forefathers. Phrowenia frequently visited the icy halls of the Princedom of Fenn to learn of the bonds between the two cultures. With two intelligent parents, Ysmay grew up to respect history and nature, though she wanted to see more of the world than Irrinor had to offer. She cared more for material things than was seemly for someone of her status and chosen goddess, and grew disillusioned with Irrinor as a whole. In a fit of annoyance, she left her home in Irrinor and began wandering the forests surrounding it until she became taken with the goddess Felixii. Fixated on the idea of freedom and harmless observation without attachment, Ysmay began a journey around the realms. Unfortunately, she has discovered that her personality may not entirely suit her quest, and finds herself longing to return home. Pride and a desire to prove herself to herself keep Ysmay motivated, so she continues on her journey. She wishes to someday return home and establish a cult to Felixii that gains the status of one such as the Cult of Amatheon.
