As an orphan, Arturis Rivular is the only part of his life he can remember, his own name. He doesn’t know his birth family, for they dropped him at the docs of Curonia before they left for a better life for themselves. A fishmonger took him in, but for years Arturis tried to run away to find his family, always stopping at the edge of the city before walking back home. As he became older, Arturis took on the task of pick-pocketing. Using the stealth tactics that the fishmonger taught him to not scare away fish, Arturis used his talents to make a better life for himself and his adopted father. After getting caught by the royal guard many times, he became friends with the captain of the royal guard and the King himself, offering to teach Arturis how to defend himself in the wild and in physical altercations. While he only received basic training, Arturis was able to somehow get himself out of any predicament. Unfortunately, at the age of thirteen, a tragic boating accident caused his adopted father’s ship to capsize on open sea, with Arturis being the only survivor. Adrift for a few days, he found himself on the shores near Gladewynn. He didn’t feel comfortable with the elves, for he aged much faster than them. He decided to live his life in the wild, he learned the ways of the winds, and of the forest. After five long years, he decides to to go back to his “hometown” of Curonia to seek a better life among his people.
