Salam is a rather regular Farfolk human named after the phrase “Hello” in Qalashi. Although when asked he says it’s from the other Qalashi phrase “As salamu alaykum” meaning peace be upon you.
Growing up in a standard low income family Salam learned most of his morals from his parents religious studies, though he wouldn’t describe himself as very religious he respects many of the aspects of his parents faith. He was an only child. of his mother that is, his father had many children and never bothered to keep record of them well enough for them to recognise or inquire about one another, therefore Salam was believed as far as he was aware to be an only child.
After growing tired of a routine life at the age of 15 Salam decided to gradually start leaving his parents household. They weren't “bad” people, but there was simply nothing more for him in that house and it would mean one less mouth to feed. He would be missed however as his parents both saw him as a big help in the house. And so he moved away from his birthplace being Sultanate without intent to return any time soon officially by the age of 18. As of now he travels mostly, hoping to find himself now alone in the big world he travels north.
