I was born in Magara’lin by my mother, Kumnaih, who vanished after giving birth to me, leaving me with his father, Damac. I was trained in the fine art of music by his father, although I won’t sing presently. I was raised and educated in Magara’lin, where I was first introduced to the Moon Mother.
I was always a very quiet child, prone to reading more than swordplay from a young age. I read much of the Spirit of the Moon, Luara. Her salvation of the ancient Mali’ker from their persecutors was astounding. I also enjoyed reading the history of my people, that of the sanctum and dark elves in general.
Starting when I was 11, I was taught the martial arts by my father. I caught on very quickly, despite my fast-growing body and tendency to prefer mind exercises over that of the body. Archery, however, never suited me. It required too precise an aim for my lanky body and preoccupied mind.
I had a vision when I was 13 in which the great Luara came to me and told me that when I am ready, I will be taught of the ancient magic of her kind. I spoke of this to my father in the morning, when he scoffed and said that Mother Moon wouldn’t concern herself with the likes of me. He stopped me from speaking with a Mali’ker, and I was never able to find time to do so without him noticing.
The only person who believed me was the lovely Ecero, whom I was enamored with from the first time I set eyes on her. She left me without word when I was 17, and I vowed never to concern myself with women again. I was sent away from my home at the age of 18. Currently, I am a nomad, although one day I hope to fulfill my destiny of being the first of the Luaran Magi.
