Basquias was born in a village west of Sutica. He lived a peaceful life with his parents. Because it was a small village, he made friends quickly. One day, his best friend Gloxin dragged him in a cave his parents discovered some time ago. As the descended into the cave, they stumbled upon some sort of altar. Moon-shaped ornaments were all over the room. Basquias knew what this meant. His parents told many stories about the goddess which created his race. They called her the girl of the moon, Luara. “Gloxin, i think it’s best if we stay away from here,” said Basquias. Then he noticed another thing. There was a hole in the ceiling. It was already night, and the moonlight was seeping through the hole. “This must have been a place where they caught moonlight!” said Gloxin excitedly. Basquias shook his head and said that they should leave, because this was a holy shrine.
As Gloxin walked away, he breathed in some particles which were floating around the altar. When Basquias exited the cave, he didnt see Gloxin anywhere. He ran down the cave again, and saw Gloxin laying on the floor. He was shaking. The moonlight suddenly revealed a piece of the room which had been dark before, and Basquias saw something horrifying. A skeleton, chained to the walls. He looked back at Gloxin, who had stopped shaking. A slow, cold voice said: “This is an unfit vessel for me. i’ll have you instead.” He ran. As fast as he could. Basquias ran out of the cave, back to the village. He never went back in. In fact, he was so scared, he decided to move away on his 20th birthday. He took the boat to Sutica and has now lived there for four years. He still remembers leaving his friend in that cave.
