The younger son of a bureaucratic family, Isaac Magnus spent his adolescence in a fair, but strict canonist household. Having many siblings of varying ages and interests, he found himself alone. His relationship with his brothers and sisters was dishonest at best. Always competing with each other for heirship. And so from a young age learned, he had to obtain any advantage possible. Much like his siblings before him, he was sent off to private schooling. Always doing his best for top marks, participating in most courses and sports, but seemingly never amounted to anything. As he entered his teenage years he was strained due to all his efforts. Never being able to compete with his older siblings, he imagined spending the rest of his days as a mere house servant. But from his despair, ambition took hold. If he could not find his future here, then perhaps it could be found somewhere else. Yearning for proper calling, fueled by ambition, the heartlander set out.
