He was forced to travel with them for 5 months before the bandits had to go through the part of the forest where he and Astria lived in. He waited till it was night before escaping from the group. It took him 6 days of wandering before he finally made it back to his sister in tattered clothes. He never told her what happened since he was scared to talk about it.
