Varoth was born into a poor, farming family to the northeast of Almaris. As a child he had to work the fields during the day, only to be verbally abused throughout the afternoon at home. Soon after becoming a teenager, he took a few things from around the house before running away under the dead of night. After a while of barely surviving in the wild, he stumbled upon the Kingdom of Haense.
While living on the streets of Haense, Varoth gained a lot of his education. He would speak to the people around there and learn from their experiences. And although he spoke to many people in the city, he never stayed in one area long enough to befriend anyone. Also during this time, he joined the Church of the Canon and became a fairly regular worshipper.
He has stayed in Haense until the present, doing odd jobs to get money for food, occasionally saving up enough to purchase a book. He has been hoping for a change in his fortune so that he may travel all of Almaris and perhaps even one day open up a tavern.
