Bori was born to a forest dwarf merchant and a half orc, half dwarf originally from Krugmar. Bori’s mother’s name was lost to him, and his father, Balin, couldn’t talk about her without bursting into tears. His parents met within a small human village on the path to Kal’Varoth. Balin was trading with a human buyer when he met his future wife, who was on a long trek to the dwarven capital. He grew to like her and the two wed a few months after and made a brief home in the village after their wedding. Bori was born soon after and his parents were planning to move to Kal'Varoth in a few months time.
It was during this time that Orc hunters raided the village.They had been tracking Bori’s mother after she had been whitewashed for leaving the war nation. They killed Bori’s mother and any human who dare step in their way. Bori fled with his son and made his way to Kal’Varoth, where Bori was given an education. Bori was aware of his mixed lineage and other dwarves were certain to remind him with insults and remarks. Bori grew to shrug these off and accepted that, at least by blood, he was not fully dwarf. He even gave himself the surname ‘Orckin’ to pay homage to this.
When Bori was nearing his 70s, his father was killed after getting involved in a barfight. This greatly saddened Bori, who dealt with his grief by practically enslaving himself to whatever work would be given to him. Now in Almaris, he has at least partially accepted his father’s death and simply hoping to live his life.
