Ayun grew up an adopted child to a family of fishers in the free trade state of Sutica. He felt safe here, among the mixed races, as he wasn't human like his family. He wasn't actually sure what he was, he knew he had to be some sort of half elf, from his ears. However, he never knew his parents, so he never got to know much about himself. In Ayuns adopted family he had one brother, who wasn't related by blood, and the brothers parents. Ayun grew up with them for the majority of his life, working for their business. He received a fine education in Sutica as a boy, showing high intelligence among his peers and the fact that he could be very successful if he put the work in. Ayun however had little interest in being hunched over a desk reading some books for the next few years of his life though, so he dropped education in his early teens. He was at the very least taught to read in write in the common language, making him somewhat useful if he sought a job.
At the age of 15 Ayuns parents would tragically pass at the hands of home invasion, but both Ayun and his brother lived through it and overcame it. After the loss of their parents and overcoming grief, the two were forced to take over the family business. But they weren't educated enough in business to run it properly, and in three years it ran to bankruptcy. Ayun and his brother were saddened and confused as to what to do next. However, they did decide to take their parents boat out one last time, for old times sake.The boys were 19 now, and it was on this boat trip that Ayun lost his only family left. A storm had over taken the sea and caused their boat to topple.
When the storm passed, Ayun was the only one to make it back to shore. For a long time Ayun spent his time sulking, riddled with grief. But eventually, his pocket change ran out, and he had to find a way to survive. He began taking on easy little jobs posted out on a community board, but he began getting bored of this. He felt no happiness, and he certainly would never go back to a fishing job, as the ocean now terrified him. He decided he wanted to explore the world from there on. He knew it was dangerous, and he knew he'd likely end up dead. But Ayun had nothing to lose anymore, and he at least wanted to see things he'd never been able to. So from then on he went to wherever he decided. The mountains, the plains, the caves. Anywhere holding mystery. But in truth, it'd only been two years since he left his home town. He'd hardly seen anything yet, he still had so much left to see. In his journeys he found great joy, however, he came to learn the world was not exactly as accepting a place as Sutica was for a boy like him. And although he knew not exactly what he was, he knew many disliked the fact that he appeared to be somewhat elven.
In Ayuns current life he is back in Sutica hoping to find a house, as Suticas homes are free and without tax. He also has made friends with some old neighbors of his childhood, who are fairly religious. He's been living with them as he awaits to find a home. While living there he has been learning about their religion, Valkyrian, and while Ayun has never and likely won't ever be religious, he thourougly enjoys being taught about different people's beliefs.
