Askeladd was raised by both his mother and his father, his fathers father was a soldier and trained his son. Askeladds father taught him everything his father taught him. His mother however was a tavern wench who was originally from Norland. This made him bear a striking resemblance to other Norlanders. His mother worked at the tavern so long she learned all the ins and outs of a tavern and while his father was out he would stay at the tavern with his mother and watch her work and take in the wonders of the tavern. This made him want to learn and take up bartending and hopefully one day he could even own his own tavern. He shadowed his mother while she worked and learned all he could. Later in his life as he became older his father taught him the ways of the blade, everything his father learned from his father before him and his time as a soldier. He looked up to his father and did not like to disappoint him. If he did disappoint him he was scolded heavily. He was born in the Kingdom of Haense, Under Sigismund IIs rule. He didn't pay much attention to politics in the kingdom. Times were hard after the Empire issued the Edict of separation. His mother got sick and eventually passed from her illness, causing his father to lose his head and drink himself to death, leaving him alone in life to put what his parents had taught him to use and follow his dream of eventually owning his own tavern. He had to get out of the place that caused him so much pain and made his way to Norland, where his mother had told him so many stories from her youth.
