Born in the great city of Reza, in the Kingdom of Haese, the only son of a family from the lower bourgeoisie, Frederick was born sick and weak, destroying the dreams of his father, who wanted his son to become a soldier to honor the Kingdom. Since Frederick was physically incapable of great deeds, he was very early placed under the tutelage of a private teacher named Ricard Osmund, a very capable old man, who realized that Frederick could be a good academic.
During his youth, Frederick did not have many friends or social interactions, as he was always deeply immersed in his studies. His only friends were his tutor, Ricard Osmund, and a young woman named E'Duarda, the daughter of his mother's maid. Frederick and E'Duarda had a beautiful bond of friendship, which often bordered on romance but never came to anything. Besides these two friends, Frederick was not even close to his own parents, who were always busy taking care of the family business.
When Frederick reached maturity, Ricard recommended that he should travel to the great city of Oren, in search of further academic instruction. And so, Frederick Mauro left, alone and with a small amount given by his parents, just enough to cover the cost of the trip and to stay in the city briefly. Frederick left for the trip with much courage and determination, and a deep fear of the unknown kept deep in his heart.
