Masven was born into a working class family who needed to work every day to stay afloat. She and her family lived for a good part of their lives in Haelun'or. They lived peacefully and owned a small but decently successful family run tavern simply named "Mead Stop". Upon the Reimposition of Unity and execution of the dark elven prince, they no longer felt safe and fled to Aegrothond. Here they were able to continue running a small and successful tavern by the same name. She spent 3 days of the week at a primary school in the area and 4 days helping her parents at the tavern. Her schedule was very busy but she was hard-working and insisted on getting through a secondary level education as well. Masven found that as she grew older, the ever watchful eye of her parents began to take its toll. Not only did this wear her thin but with age she grew increasingly frightened of their reverent beliefs. She spent many months thinking about how she felt, and what she could do about it and sadly, any and all conclusions led her to the choice of leaving her family. It pained her greatly to no longer be able to live and work with them but she realized that she had come of an age to be on her own. Though she disliked both the sea and Cyrene's lackluster governing, she found herself living in the trade state Sutica. After nearly 7 years of life there she found herself tired of the stagnant life she had learned from her parents and their parents before them, and thus decided to take an indefinite break, and travel freely for as long as she should wish. Sadly, due to the nature of the life she'd chosen to live, spending almost all her free time helping her parents with the business or studying for school, she found herself with ever fewer friends. She managed to maintain two close friendships when she lived in Aegrothond - one of those was with an elderly human woman, named Jillian Ceveg, whom she would play chess with when days at the tavern were slow. the other was human boy who was only a year younger than her, who ran a competing tavern, on their weekends the two would hold friendly competitions in the spirit of their parents rival taverns. She lost contact with both of them when she left for Sutica.
