Winton Saurshot was born into a family, as an only child, which owned a private farm that exported many goods, such as grain, meat (most animals you could think of; cow, pig, sheep, etc.) and occasionally minerals and logging materials. When the weaving of spider silk was invented, the company also attempted to get the occasional batch of spider silk as well. Despite what many would think, due to sketchy deals and stingy kingdoms, they did not get as much money as they would have liked. However, the family did not live a particularly poor life. Being on a farm, all food was accounted for and whenever the family needed something, they would usually be able to afford it, spare the high end equipment like ploughs for fields. Winton's father, Murvin Saurshot, owned and managed the farm, to a large extent, alone, due to his multiple marriages and divorces. Despite being currently married to his longest wife, Esra Ruma (Now Esra Saurshot), Murvin forbid that Esra interfere in the running of the farm because of past experiences with past wives. Winton never knew his real mother, but Esra had been the closest thing he had apart from that. She was kind and caring, and nurtured him non-stop until he was about 6. The earliest thing Winton remembers is from those times, where she'd take him out to the hill overlooking the farm, and she'd tell him: "Don't let anyone dictate your life. Don't let someone else's wishes interfere with your own unless you have the will power to choose to do so, and live with the consequences." Winton would spend most of his time venturing different places of the farm, which was a vast and expansive land, and when he was old enough, he would go to the nearby town and play with the other children that lived there, or even go to the library to read a book about the legends of old, like Viek'hals library. He would sometimes watch the school children as they came out of the school, wondering what it was like, as he was only taught from home. On a autumn afternoon, as he was doing such a thing, one child approached him, one year older than he, and their name was Pridel Marshpike. Pridel was a 13 year old boy at the time of this occurrence, and he asked, "Do you live here?" Those were the first words someone from outside the farm had ever said to him. Needless to say, after a good conversation, Winton befriended Pridel, and they spent most of their free time together. Over time, Winton introduced Pridel to his parents, and vice versa, and the Marshpike and the Saurshot families were bonded as friends. Both families respected one another and performed favours for each other occasionally, like giving the Marshpikes a fresh sack of potatoes, or helping the Saurshot's create a banking account to keep their valuables. As time went on, Winton and Pridel became notoriously known for pulling small pranks on townsfolk and that one time during the Mayor's Thursday speech that they dropped a bag of flour on his head, midway through, and then getting a right good walloping from their parents afterwards. Seeking more out of the world, the pair split ways in search of new and exciting things to discover.
