Sírëno was born to a renegade tribe of Dark Elves, of the Warhawkes. As a young elf, Sírëno saw his tribe bring in three human captives, tied to poles. The men had been captured on their way to The Free State of Sutica. Although he was a dark elf, Sírëno felt sorry for the captives, who would be tortured until they died. That night, he crept into the cell where the humans were being held, and Sírëno knocked the guard unconscious, taking the guard's key and freeing the humans. Just as he had almost led the captives to the treeline, his father saw him, and began screaming at him. Sírëno told the men to run, and turned to face his father. "This is wrong!" Sírëno shouted, grasping his signet, "I will not live life like this!" He ripped the signet off and cast it into the mud. His father, furious, had him tied to the whiping post, where he was branded as a traitor, and Sireno was flogged repeatedly, until he passed out. The next morning, he awoke to his mother dabbing cold water on his wounds. "Oh Sireno, why did you do that? You disgraced us, your family!........Maybe, if you wear the signet again, and live by our laws, your father will accept yo-" "NO, MOHTER!" He shouted, "This is WRONG! I will NOT live like this!" "Very well," his mother said, "I can't help you anymore.
After three days of suffering, tied to the post, mocked and ridiculed, beaten often, Sireno had almost given up, then he heard something. "A horn!" one of the women shouted. "The Suticans have come to kill us!"
Truly, it was a war party from one of the towns in Sutica, who now knew the location of the elves. Sireno watched as the Suticans bursted through the trees, mounted on tall steeds, brandishing deadly weapons. The resistors were cut down, the rest driven out or captured. A man dismounted from his steed and walked slowly towards Sireno. He drew his sword and swung visciously, severing the ropes that bound Sireno. The man took off his helmet, and Sireno recognized him as one of the men he had freed. Sireno was given a Sutician sword by the man (a governer of the nearby town) and a bag of gold, as well as his freedom. Sireno thanked the man kindly, and ran off into the trees.
Since then, he has done good wherever he can, and has made several friends in many places. He has never been able to settle down, and he is rejected by dark elves everywhere because of the mark on his ear.
