When Swagrig and her twin brother Gug were 3 years old, their parents drank a potion to try to gain ultimate power. It turned them into big boney ghouls. Terrified, Swagrig and Gug ran to the nearby babbling brook and started forming a hut out of rocks. Then Swagrig slips down the brook and lands into the dark cave. Being just three years old, Swagrig was traumatized by the darkness of the cave, not seeing her brother anywhere for a while. At the age of 8, Gug finally finds Swagrig in the cave and they reunite and start building their empire of petty theft. They've been doing this petty theft hustle to stay afloat until they reach the age of 99 to put themselves through goblin school. As they relax in their hut after a long day of thieving, a strong gust of wind blows down the hut. They look up and see their parents, The Boney Ghouls. Their father laughs evilly at them, belittling them, calling them failures for not becoming ghouls like them. Swagrig and Gug scatter like roaches to find a way to contain their evil ghoul parents. Swagrig foams at the mouth in excitement and spots a magical sealing jar she ganked from an old unsuspecting wizard a few moons back. She says "hey ghouls, why don't you keep it cools!" as her parents are sucked into the jar, letting out a screech that even a mollusk could hear. "it's over," Gug says, bruised by the schrapnel of their hut, "it's finally over." The siblings embrace and both let out a sigh. They say in unison, "what a day that was, but nothing can stop this fabled duo!"
