Born into a thriving community of Wood Elves, Kriess lived with his family and friends for a good portion of his first 17 years of life high in the trees, in the forests North of Elvenesse. That was until a violent group of thieves and fiends found their settlement, and using torches and spells of fire and destruction, burnt it to ash. Kriess and his father were two of the few to survive, fleeing in fear of their lives. They ran far into unknown parts of the forests. And it is there that they remained. Occasionally, travellers, merchants, thieves and heroes would venture near their home, where Kriess would watch them with curiosity until they ventured too far for his comfort. His father would often venture away, out of the woods for supplies, medicines and food that did not grow or flourish in their part of the forest.
One day, his father ventured out on such a trip, but did not return for days. A week passed and the worry only grew for Kriess. So, clutching a small bag of what he has deemed his most valuable possessions, he ventures farther then he ever has, on a search for his father.
