Garris was once a proud Holy Knight for the Church of the Canon in a distant area in Norland. However after a tragic series of events lead to him beheading his captain, he was deemed a traitor and banished from his Order. He took up drinking in the taverns of the world and selling his combat skills to those who need protection or a battle fought for them. Garris has traveled most of Norland and many parts of Haense. During his travels he proved himself a capable warrior and thief, although not the sneakiest due to his refusal to remove parts of his old Holy Knight armor. One day while in a tavern in eastern Haense, he had heard of a place he could take refuge and find work in the Holy Orenian Empire. Eager to have a place to stay and find real work, he quickly packed what few belongings he had and began his journey. After getting lost for a few years and accidentally ending back up in Norland, he was captured and tortured, losing his left eye in the process. He managed to escape but now bears even more bitter hatred towards Norland and the Church for what they did to him. He now roams Oren looking for work and another drink.
He still carries his Holy Knight shield, but has scratched off and tried to paint over the crest of the church. His armor's paint has faded and his sword is a bit rusted.
