My character was born poor. His father was a struggling blacksmith who committed suicide as his family began to collect debt. Fearing that he would never amount to much like his father, my character joined the army. His remaining family, who wanted him to continue the blacksmith shop, disowned him because he went against their wishes. My character was later discharged from the army from getting a foot infection from a splinter. The splinter dug into his foot after he faced a troop of bandits who shattered his halberd, the handle splintering. His foot was amputated, and he now has a fake one. The fake foot made it so he couldn't join the army, so he became a mercenary. Although never hired, he has the delusion that he is helping Bree by assassinating thieves and orcs against the kingdoms wishes.
