Gurd had a younger brother and lived with his grandparents in Haenese (although born in Norland) after his parents abandoned them both in a burning house during the sutican war. While in this house gurd and his brother were stuck for hours trying to escape the flames . Eventually Gurd grabbed his brother and ran through the thinnest wall of flames he could find. It left both of them burnt and scared. They were picked up by their grandparents and lived a normal life until 2 years ago when him his brother and his friend were mountain climbing. It started to rain and his friend said he should leave but Gurd was to stubborn to give up and his friend grabbed a wet rock and slipped falling to his death. Gurd never forgave himself.
His grandparents were some of the first highlanders to follow the culture of reavir . A few days ago a herd of beasts attacked his house. He tried to stop them but they were to strong and they took his brother. Gurd has lost his house and is living in a hotel.
