Locke was born to a medium sized family in a townstead a short ways outside of the Kingdom of Norland. His father was a Norland carpenter who often went on trips for short periods to sell his wares within the kingdoms cities. His mother, like many others, was a housewife who tended to chores and such at home. Within the area of the townstead lived other family members such as his uncle, who was a blacksmith, and his 2 cousins. His aunt had passed away a short time before he was born. He grew up learning the fundamentals of the world from his uncle and father, while also being taught the ways of the Red Faith. Things like faith never interested him much, and often would come up with his own form of entertainment by exploring the nearby forests and generally running around the townstead. One of these adventures wound up landing him trapped inside of a well, where he was eventually be rescued after what felt like ages, sprouting his fear of tight spaces. Once he was old enough, around 15 years old, his father started teaching him about carpenting while his uncle would show him around the forge every so often. That same year his father would take him on one of his journeys to town which would astonish the young boy, giving birth to his need to see the world.
As time went on, his mother would eventually pass on due to illness in the winter, and his father would age past the ability to make the long trips he use to. Locke would take care of his father for the remainder of his life and took up his fathers profession as a means of income. A week after his fathers passing, Locke would steel himself to leave his childhood home and explore the world with his cousin. Once he was satisfied with his journeys, he vowed to return home and share his many stories with his parents and make a family of his own.
