Born in Norland and raised by a Norlandic family Nilovok was originally introduced into the culture and faith of his family. His parents raising him to be hard working and a devout follower of the Red Faith, despite the fact that even as a child his parents could see that he was physically not like any other kid in Norland. However as he got older Nilovok's unusual body build was becoming an apparent issue, for it was greatly limiting him in such a harsh environment. As a result, his peers would distance themselves from him and the things his parents taught him about his peoples culture never truly stuck with him. Including his parents teachings in upkeeping traditions related to the Red Faith, as he would instead read books about myths and fantastical creatures in seclusion while watching the snow fall as his peers ran around outside. As Nilovok grew older and older his fascination for the arcane and mythical grew more and more as well as his general willingness to learn new things. This eventually lead him into a peculiar tome, it was written by someone titled The Wandering Wizard and within was a story about how the world was supposedly created, while others seemed skeptical Nilovok was hooked. He would spend countless nights reading books about anything related to anything mentioned in the story with little progress, specifically anything about curses for he was particularly curious about the curse inflicted upon mankind by Iblees. Eventually leading to the decision that at the age of 18 he would leave Norland with nothing but what he could carry on his back and no skills of note to explore the lands and cultures for more knowledge about this himself.
