This may seemed far fetched, but this ties into with a few other roleplays I do...
Born in Gotham in the 90s, Jean-Paul Valley had a relatively normal childhood, growing up with only his father, who raised him his entire life. He never knew who his mother was, and was often curious to his father. Through his childhood, he was an extremely intelligent student, taking a large interest in computer engineering and technology. Proceeding through school, Jean ended up attending Gotham City University where he excelled into getting his degree in Computer science. One night, this all would change. It was a cold and stormy night, like any other in Gotham. Jean-Paul, trying to sleep early for an exam the next morning, was awoken to the crashing of his front door. To his shock, he saw his father sprawled across the entry way, a trail of blood following him. His father was wearing a heavy suit of templar-like armor, a large sword beside him. He told his son with his dying breath that it is time to follow his legacy. Confused, shocked, and in disbelief, Jean-Paul soon falls to the floor, blacking out due to a dart poking him in the neck. He awakes, in a large, ancient room surrounded by hooded figures, a small fire between the circle of them. The informed him they are the secret order of Saint Dumas, an extremist faction of the knights of Templar. Before Jean could even speak, they dress him in a suit of powerful armor, much more advanced than his fathers. They informed him he will become the new Azrael, the Orders personal assassin, killing anyone who disobeys the word of God. The suit controlled Jean-Paul, giving him no emotions, letting him feel no pain, and increased his agility and strength to that of the most peaked human. Jean continued on as Azrael for some time, before finally breaking free of the Order's iron grip. Lost with no one to help him, he stumbled upon on of the orders most advanced technological mechanisms yet; a time machine. When accidently activating it, he soon got blown to the world of LotC, with only little remembrance of who he once was or where he was from.
Soon enough, he finds the order has been around for centuries, even finding they have a presence in this time period. He soon must learn who he is... as well as hiding from the extreme control of the order.
