Rhileia's mother was a young Wood Elf, no older than 50 when she gave birth to the daughter of Eroan (a young High Elf) out of wedlock. The two had met outside the city of Haelun'or, and fallen in love, as two youngsters often do. It was a fast-paced romance, with very little rational thought put into the relationship. As such, neither were ready for parenthood, and when Eroan's family found out, Rhileia's mother was exiled from the land and she was to be raised in near-isolation by her father's family, due to the shame she burdened them with. Eroan was close to expulsion as well, but due to his family keeping the affair a secret and them being sympathetic due to his youth, he was simply put into a programme of re-education.
She grew up with no real friends, only some distant cousins who would tease her and exclude her from their games. Raised by the elders of Eroan's family, she was constantly reminded of the fact that she was different, and was subject to many a disapproving stare, no matter what she was doing. They taught her the importance of keeping the purity of the elven community amongst other cultural standards, as well as the basics of science and literature. Now, eighteen years later, she has left them behind in search of a proper community to belong to, so she can start her life.
