Curis was raised in the woods by his family. He is the only child of two wood elves, and they expected much of him. He was able to live up to their expectations, yet they began to wear down on him especially when his parents' thoughts for his future (to stay within the woods and start a family, with a bride of their choosing) and his own dreams (to travel) conflicted. This resulted in frequent fighting, with intermittent periods of tense and uncomfortable peace. Eventually, he up and left and decided to follow his own dreams at the cost of his family, their ideals, and his security. (Although he left most of his tradition behind, he carried with him the methods of bowcarving that his father had taught him and the worship of the Aspects.) He enjoys the travel and the sights that he sees, yet his journeys have not come without their hardships. He had grown up too sheltered, and proved to be too trusting of others; enough to get him into trouble many times. Additionally, he is plagued by fears of never finding people to stay around and trust him (and if he does, that the same events that happened with his family will happen with whoever else he meets). Despite this, he perseveres; the shame he would feel at having to return and the obvious sacrifice of his dreams prevent him from turning around. (Though, most days he feels as if his decision to leave home has been generally positive and a good decision.
