Artorien was born small and sickly, and his mother perished in childbirth, leaving him with only a martial father who only valued raw strength. His father quickly remarried, and his second son was born strong- he wasted no time declaring his new heir. Artorien's childhood was devoid of compassion, with his stepmother attempting to make him "disappear" on numerous occassions. He grew to not trust anyone, and became more self-reliant. His father sent young teenage Artorien away to the military, in hopes of him earning some degree of honor by dying on a battlefield- however Artorien had natural prowess for drill and swordplay. Finally, upon reaching adulthood, he was formally disowned and stripped of his rights and privileges. With no safe options, he left to make his own way in the world, seeking gainful employment as a capable military officer and drill instructor. Artorien learned to lie at a young age, to avoid the wroth of his father, and he also could not make personal connections with others. This made him surprisingly charismatic, charming, and the picture of a perfect gentleman- yet his heart is cold, distant, and full of anger. His thirst for vengeance drives him to prove himself, and his ambition obligates him to ascend, or die in obscurity.
