My character, Ophelia was apart of a family of a lower class, the father was a farm laborer and her mother was... more of a free spirit. Her mother and father were very much in love and had created a very happy family, with a son who was 8 years old and a newborn baby. However when Ophelia reached the age of 4, her mother died, so her father was completely heartbroken for the rest of his life and became very unhappy and miserable. Ophelia looked up to her mother and was inspired by her way of living and by her free spirited persona whereas her brother connected more with their father as he had a more practical way of thinking. Her father became disinterested in Ophelia and her brother and could not afford or have the time to educate them or care for them the same way their mother did, however Ophelia still wanted to learn about the world so has always attended church and tried to learn about animals and nature purely from her own research and exploration. Her father passed away recently from old age and her brother married and moved elsewhere so she wants a fresh start and wants to find somewhere where she feels she can learn new things and meet new people.
