You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "I'm looking for something up north, at least that's what my uncle told me. He was a provo anyway so I didn't take his word at first until he showed me the map, anyways I'm looking for a place to rest up for the night, can you recommend a inn?" *Lyah looks at the moldy cushion with some discomfort. "Given that I lived through the troubles, I think this journey is gonna be fun." *Lyah takes a sip from a water flask,then continues. "Anyways, I digress. My uncle told me that this thing is special, and I would find it, and that I will know what it is when I ultimately do find it. He called it our family's stipulation, though I doubt he even really knew what it is, or was." *Lyah sighs, "But finding it only cost our family trouble, my father and grandfather both died trying to get to it. And I had to kill three men in a tavern with a quill and bar of soap just three days after I set off on this damn quest." "That's why i've stuck to small towns, or large cities in which nobody gives a damn who you are. Finding that item is what caused my family to be toppled from power, and it's honestly the first time i've been outside the manor in my lifetime." *Lyah looks up, gauging the hag's reaction, then chuckles. "At least you didn't try to have me burned at the stake like those three men at the tavern, apparently there are people who don't care about the infamy of the Cronen family."
