Merl grew up the eldest of three brothers, in a little town on the periphery of Norland. he enjoyed prosperity until his father passed away of natural causes when he was 16 and his household was thrown into chaos. The burden of providing for the family fell to him and he dropped the ball. Pursuing his own interests, he wandered the world and enjoyed learning about nature and mining and smelting. He met a woman and they had wonderful kids, but the woman was not faithful and they went their own ways. With his two daughters grown, he has started looking for a homestead to set up, away from the prying fingers of noble's taxes, and looking for people to help and be freinds with.
