Zephus had a simple childhood. His mother Marie and his father Ro'brt took great joy in their son. Though they did worry about Zephus's trust nature, they did their best to raise him as a good person. Zephus didn't have many friends growing up, but he was fine with that. His best friend Zekle was always by his side. Even though they got along well, Zephus's parents worried about him, as Zekle would often times, gets them into trouble. When Zephus was 14, his father came down with an illness that made him unable to walk, forcing him to stay in bed. Zephus did the best he could taking care of his father, but when he was 16, his father passed in his sleep. Zephus was heartbroken, wishing he could have done more. When he was 18, his mother remarried an orc, and he was glad she was happy again. He deiced that when he turned 21, he was going to explore the world and find a place of his own. And so, on his 21 birthday, he wished his mother goodbye and to stay well and set off to the unknown.
