Relfyn was born to Relkr and Telmisa, hunters of Norland who traveled from Hanseti and Orenian selling pelts. An only child, his father but lots of pressure on him to be a great hunter and push the family business of pelt hunting to prosperity. But Relfyn was always a weak lad, smaller than most boys his age. Only Telmisa, his mother cared for him regardless of his stature. She taught him the wilds and how to survive the bitter colds of the north, find food, and even shelter. Regardless of his father's disappointment in him he pushed himself to succeed, he developed tools to hunt prey to compensate his size. Upon increasing their profits, the newest ruler of Varhelm, Vane Freysson Ruric, took noticed and gifted Relkr a new home within Varhelm. Relfyn continues to live here alone due to his parents passing of old age. Now instead of hunting, Relfyn focuses the Deynacast dowry to toolsmith and blacksmith (occassionally he hunts to eat)
