Samuel was born in Savoy into the plebian class this meant while he wasnt wealthy there were many worse off than him. His father was a tailor and his mother died from disease when he was a young boy. This deeply affected Samuel leaving him as lonely and without a motherly figure in his life.
Because of this he had few friends and the ones he did he grew apart from however he grew a close bond with his father.
As a young man he joined the Myrine Guard as it was the best option available, his father wished him to takeover the tailoring business but Samuel firstly wasn’t good at it and secondly had no interest in clothing. Now that his father was getting on in age business was slow and Samuel needed the money. Being middle class he had been taught to read and write by his mother when she was alive but otherwise his education didnt go much further.
