Thufir is a Human who is a nobody, born from a Father who was a nobody of a merchant and was told to come from a long lineage of unimportant nobodies varying in their practices, trades and insignificances across the ages. There's no record of any formal attendance to education, taught solely by his Father on the practices of necessities of life, salesmanship and one's place in the hierarchy of life. Coming from a family of low income, low social standing and little to their name's legal entitlement meant much of Thufir's early life was a similar struggle to other peasantry in the old world.
His true beginnings date back from before the Second Age, being one of the many who migrated to Almaris during his younger age. Immediately capitalising on the potential wealth the new world held: he was first a travelling merchant, trading on the roads between The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and The Kingdom of Norland, and then later a farmer after a series of unfortunate events regarding The Tenth Nordling War.
Up until 24 S.A, Thufir remained on the trading roads of the kingdoms before he eventually retreated into the forests of Elvenesse. To Thufir, the forests were a welcoming home to him as it was an opportunity to confound a new start and a new beginning to completely embrace a new identity for himself. For little reason at all, besides wanting to forget himself, Thufir took the name: Barbu out from a band of Mali'ame that commented on the Thufir's worn attire at the time of their meeting. With a new name, a band of Elves that mocked him and a fleeting desire to begin anew despite the infighting his race chose to have lead Thufir on an immersion of Elven culture, living and absorption of their lifestyle into his own.
Many years later, through a life lived among the Elves that mocked him, Thufir finds himself unconscious in the Cloud Temple of Almaris ready to expand his horizons beyond his known world of Almaris at a much slower, conservative pace in his elderly age.
