(The link to the lore wiki didn't work for me, so I tried making Margaery's lore as detached from other species and relatively out of view with usage of "small" and "newly-built kingdom far from any neighboring ones") Margaery comes from a well-off family of four, the "rulers" of a small and religious village - one that devoutly followed Canonism to a fault. The village was relatively peaceful and helped one another in times of need. Margaery and her family were well-liked by the people in the village due to their extensive services in both the fields and business with other towns and people outside their home. Little Margaery was often in the village, playing with her younger brother and the children while taking small "jobs" to earn her own money. She knew everything about everyone there, even the forest and its critters weren't safe from her nigh-omnipotent eyes and ears when it came to her home. However, the village later had troubles; crops became scarce, animals crippled and the land withered. Illnesses and disease sprung up onto the once saint-like grounds, and the people became desperate. They believed the God they worshipped had abandoned them due to the decline of worship, and tried praying, offering and sending animal sacrifices to please them - but it was all for naught. Until one day, a priest who was once jealous of the Hexentanz and their reputation, rallied the people under the guise of lies, and told them that they could be free from the torment if they sacrifice the village's "leaders", and they stormed House Hexentanz. Poor Margaery and her brother were captured, and her parents abandoned them despite their cries for help. In the cell, ten-year-old Margaery and her eight-year-old brother didn't understand what had happened, until they both heard of their fate by the end of the week. She resolved to escape, and with the help of her brother and her knowledge of the infrastructure of the cell and building, and the time between guards, did just that. What became of the village and their parents onwards was never known to the siblings, and they were quite grateful for it. As time passed on, the two had settled in a newly built kingdom far from neighboring ones. There, they built a life. Margaery became a teacher, and her brother, Margot, general of the army. Whenever one was down, the other picked them back up, and they lived in relative peace. This peace didn't last. Once again, the kingdom was "abandoned" by its Gods, and once again, they needed a human sacrifice. Margaery wasn't chosen, but her brother was - jailed until his "time". This time, Margaeary couldn't help her brother out of the situation; heavy guards and 24/7 surveillance would prove any escape attempt uneventful. She tried to barter and bribe the people to help her and her brother escape, but it wasn't enough. her brother would be executed by the end of the day. The time came, and her brother was brought to the wooden slab to be hanged, and she watched in horror as he smiled at her, and was hung. Nineteen-year-old Margaery left the lands. During her months of travel, she had built a relatively small cottage in the outskirts of the Holy Orenian Empire to temporarily shelter herself in until she was ready to go back to traveling. There, she met a nice Mountain Dwarf in a bar, and was taken in as his student. Under his tutelage, she became interested in the cultures and relics of each species. She became an avid antique-collector, and owned a shop brimming with items of all kinds. However, word came about in her home that anyone who goes by "Hexentanz" has a bounty over their head to be brought back, alive, to Margaery's old village which was now rich but vengeful of how Margaery and her brother escaped, viewing them as "traitorous demons who should be properly executed for their selfishness". Margaery knew she can't flaunt her name, and took up the mantle "Umbra". "Umbra" lives her life her own way, while being cautious and meticulous of her privacy and bearings. She'll make sure she won't make the same mistakes of trust and naivety like she did once before. "Margaery Hexentanz" is dead, "Umbra" is here to stay.
