Ergom was born while on the move in his father's trade caravan. During his childhood he was a somewhat mischievous child, often planning pranks and stunts that would result with him hiding from his father and mother. As he grew up he watched his father haggle from dawn to sunset as Ergom accompanied him to the markets in the towns the caravan passed by. Around the time Ergom turned 17 he was often the one leading the caravan into towns due to his father's deteriorating health.
At the age of 25 Ergom took over his late father's carvan and lead it to the Commonwealth of Sutica from Oren in hopes of better prices for his goods and further business opportunities. When he arrived in Sutica all went well for several years making Ergom somewhat wealthy but it would not last. At 31 years of age while taking the caravan from Sutica to the Fakhr Emirate on a contract Ergom decided to take a shortcut through a mountain pass. This proved to be a fatal mistake because as the caravan was travelling along the pass a great storm rolled over the mountain triggering a massive landslide. The landslide hit the caravan straight on massacring everyone in its path. Ergom survived by sheer luck as he was ahead of where the landslide hit with a small scouting party. Once he returned to the caravan there were only a few struggling survivors left and they blamed Ergom for the disaster. Those still alive quickly abandoned the Caravan and began the journey back to Sutica leaving Ergom among the rubble of stone and destroyed carts. Realising that salvaging anything was futile he returned to Sutica aswell. At this time he is still travelling and periodically finding someplace to work while wandering towards the Sutican capital.
