Dietrich was fortunate that, at least in the memories he wants to remember, he grew up in excellent conditions. His family's wealth allowed him to receive a proper education, there were never gifts lacking at any feast to be celebrated, and the warmth of home gave him a sense of security. Unfortunately, however, this idyll came to an end when the business of his father, who was once known as a splendid merchant in Karosgrad, their hometown, went bankrupt. This unfortunate incident dragged the entire family down, and they have had to suffer hunger and deprivation in general ever since. They grew distant from each other, and as a result of poverty, the most primitive of instincts aroused in them. The young man was left only to live in the dreams of the past, but the image he saw with his eyes, not his imagination, made him decide to leave. One night, while strolling through the back alleys, under the influence of a strong feeling, he grabbed a broken blade he found, intending to pierce himself with it to exhale his last breath. Unexpectedly, a little girl whom he hardly knew or ever seen appeared from around the corner and wordlessly snatched the rusty edge from the lad's hands, making her palms bleed scarlet blood, and departed into the shadows in a rush. As strange as it sounds, the emotionally unstable Dietrich considered the event a miracle and a sign of fate. Little did he know that his childish, yet brave, savior had simply sneaked out of the house and began to follow him out of boredom. That same night, he abandoned the city to embark on a journey, during which he will pursue to regain the prosperity he remembers from his best days. Rejecting his past name, he began introducing himself as Corvus, a crow that flew away from Haense, with the purpose to give it the meaning it will earn through his efforts.
