Sano was born to Cyrus and Sanda, a city guard and his wife. Sano was named for his brilliant blue eyes that beamed like spring water. Growing up, he wandered and practiced swordplay with sticks though he was much more partial to the use of a spear. Once he was of age he was drafted into the army to fight in the war (again tried to find something specific but couldn't). He experienced the worst horrors imaginable. The smell of burning flesh alongside the taste of hot metal in the air, the sight of disemboweled men screaming as they scramble to collect their entrails, the raving madness of brother holding brothers head in their arms crying with a painful grin. All this broke the man. But....
Amongst the ash and carnage of the aftermath, he saw it. There was a man going from body to body collecting each one with breath and tending to them. When the pale old man approached him next he tried to move, unnerved by this stranger. But then the man calmed him and applied a soothing oil and moved on to the next and by the time Sano could move, the man was gone. Since then Sano has been urgently looking for this man until eventually just devolving to shambling mess of a man haunted by the past and obssessed with the search
